On Monday evening, psychotherapist Dr. Sean Fitzpatrick served as the inaugural mental health speaker for the Brown Foundation Freshmen Leadership Organization (BFFLO) sharing his knowledge on mental health and personal growth. His thought-provoking presentation, “We Grown Down, Too,” offered insight into internal and external pressures high-achieving students face, how to set expectations and identify when they become unreasonable, and the importance of self-care.
Breakout groups were facilitated by BFFLO officers, and students were invited to share their perspectives in a setting designed to be both welcoming and respectful of individual comfort levels. Dr. Fitzgerald’s thoughtful insights—and his ability to foster an inclusive, supportive environment for all Brown Scholars—were deeply appreciated and very well received. We are grateful for his continued support of our scholars.
