Gowtham and his team developed a system for early wildfire detection in California using cost-effective sensors to monitor environmental conditions and send information to a cloud-based database. ​

The software included a web application that visualizes real-time data and integrated a ChatGPT-powered LLM to answer questions. When temperature thresholds were exceeded, the system triggers push notifications to fire department personnel and nearby residents, enabling rapid response and early evacuation of residents.​
