Brown Scholar Gowtham Kadiyala and his team win 1st place at TAMU HowdyHack 2025 – ARM sponsored challenge

Gowtham and his team won 1st place at TAMUHowdyHack 2025 by developing an early wild fire detection system in California using cost-effective sensors to monitor environmental conditions and send information to a cloud-based database.

The software included a web application that visualizes real-time data and integrated a ChatGPT-powered LLM to answer questions. When temperature thresholds were exceeded, the system triggered push notifications to fire department personnel and nearby residents, enabling rapid response and early evacuation of residents.
