Brown Scholar Athul Mohanram was selected as a 2026 Barry Goldwater Scholar,one of 464 students selected from over 5,000 nationwide applicants. TheGoldwater Scholarship is considered the highest undergraduate STEM researchaward in the U.S. .
Athul a first co- author of a review paper on viral myocarditis accepted to theprestigious Experimental and Molecular Medicine Journal. He is the past-President of the Texas A&M Chapter of Partners in Health Engage, a globalhealth advocacy organization, and is the newly appointed Texas State Captain.
Athul has taken graduate Computer Science courses. He is completing an Art &Architectural History minor and is studying abroad in Rome- Fall, 2026. Hementors freshmen as a Calculus tutor at the A&M Math Learning Center.
Athul interned this summer at Eli Lilly, working on the Co-Design Team withinPatient Engagement specializing in optimizing clinical trial designs.
He will matriculate to the School of Engineering Medicine in 2027.
