Gemma graduated from A&M in 2010 with a degree in Biomedical Science. At A&M, she served as President of the Philippine Student Association and Co-Director of the Institute for the Development and Education of Asian American Leaders. Gemma graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, Texas. She says that people always ask her about her experience as an Aggie. She said that she knows now the experience of being an Aggie never ends and that the only words that come close to describing it are well known. “From the outside looking in, you can’t understand it, and from the inside looking out, you can’t explain it.” She said that without a doubt, her years at A&M were the most profound years of her life and she has the Brown Foundation to thank for that.
