Ethel graduated from A&M in 2002 with a degree in Animal Science and graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Ethel received the L.T. Jordan Fellows Award to conduct research in Morocco, a summer research scholarship for research on anesthesia in donkeys, and a Geraldine Dodge Foundation Frontiers in Veterinary Medicine grant to promote safe care and handling of donkeys in veterinary settings. She completed a two-year Epidemic Intelligence Service program at the CDC and is back in Texas as a CDC Preventive Medicine Fellow assigned to the Texas A&M Health Sciences Center and the Williamson Counties and Cities Health District. Ethel states that the education she received at A&M was invaluable to her current career. In the seven years since she graduated from vet school, she has had the opportunity to meet veterinarians who trained at other schools, which made her appreciate the hands-on experience and mentorship Texas A&M offered. She met other Aggies through her work, and the camaraderie shared by Aggie graduates has given them common ground to build on immediately. She lives in Austin, Texas.
