Brown Scholar Anaya Bawiskar and her team won 1st place at Sling Health TAMU. Sling Health is a student-run biotechnology incubator that provides resources, training, and mentorship to teams of students (medical, engineering, business, etc) tackling clinical problems by developing innovative solutions.
The team created a birth control kit containing reusable models for insertion and removal of IUDs, educational pamphlets, and competency checklists. They also created an online website with updated resources for physicians assisting patients with birth control in rural and low-resource settings.
