Kyle graduated in 2005 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and graduated from medical school in 2009 at University of Texas at Houston. He went on to orthopedic surgery residency at UT Houston, where he was awarded the Arthur Jansa Courage to Lead Award by the orthopedic surgery department. He also received the Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award and the Benjy Brooks Outstanding Clinical Faculty Award by the medical school. He left Houston after graduating from residency in 2014, and went to Philadelphia for a year for surgery fellowship. He is now an Assistant Professor in the department of Orthopedics at University of Texas at Houston McGovern Medical School, where he handles hand, upper extremity, and nerve injuries. He is married to Marion Woerner, a pediatrician, and they have two kids, Austin and Andrew. He is forever grateful for the opportunities that the Brown Foundation scholarship opened up for him.
