Zachary Richards graduated in 2015 from Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, Texas. He served as French horn section leader and President of the band, President of the National Honor Society, and Senior Class Vice President. He was a National Merit Scholar and class Valedictorian. Zachary has been involved in the Texas A&M Wind Symphony, Memorial Student Center Freshmen in Service and Hosting, Texas Aggie National Scholar Ambassadors, the American Medical Student Association, Fish Camp, Engineering Honors, and the Hullabaloo Pep Band. He also served as Lechner Hall Crew Chief for the 2016 Student Bonfire season, a role in which he helped orchestrate efforts to clear land for Habitat for Humanity homes in Bryan, Texas. Zachary has performed research applying stem cell use to regenerative orthopedic applications and presented his work at the 2018 Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering Conference. Zachary was named a Peter Chaplinsky Scholar in 2017, an award designating the top undergraduate junior in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Zachary is a graduate of the Engineering School of Medicine and was the President of the inaugural EnMed Class of 2023
