Samuel Alders

Sam began his tenure at A&M in the Fall of 2014 with the intention of achieving a degree in Petroleum Engineering. A semester and a half later, it became clear that a new course of action might suit him better and he found himself in the West Campus halls of the Mays Business School, where he remained until he graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus in Nonprofit Management. He says that A&M afforded him numerous opportunities to get involved outside of the classroom — in the lives of friends and in a wide variety of organizations across campus. Some especially memorable involvements included practicing with the women’s basketball team, sharing a stand in the orchestra with another Brown Scholar alum, and the SGA Fish Aides Service Committee. These shaped many of his friendships and opened his eyes to areas of campus he had never anticipated being around. After graduation, he accepted a job in Minneapolis working as an internal accounting consultant for a manufacturing firm and he expects to continue his tenure up there for the foreseeable future.
