Melissa graduated from A&M in 2016 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Melissa was involved with the Society of Women Engineers, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Engineers Without Borders, and the MSC Visual Arts Committee. Melissa won the undergraduate division of the Gulf Coast regional student paper contest and went to Dubai in 2016 to compete in the international contest. Melissa stated that attending Texas A&M has been the most phenomenal experience for her. Since the day Mr. Brown was kind enough to offer her a scholarship, she feels like the opportunities haven’t stopped presenting themselves to her and she certainly hopes she has made the most of each one! She has been able to travel abroad to Italy and Qatar. In her time with the MSC, she has been mentored by wonderful advisors with incredible life stories and has had the opportunity to meet and work with some truly inspirational students – all travelling down different life paths and working towards making an impact in our world. As an Engineering student, she has been able to compete against other students and other schools in global contests and see the industry first hand through internships. Attending Texas A&M has been such a life changing opportunity and she believes it has helped mold her into the person she is today. She will never stop being thankful for being able to call herself an Aggie!
