I conducted research in the Preventive Cardiology Lab at Houston Methodist under Dr. Kershaw Patel. I studied how strong the evidence is behind current ACC/AHA health guidelines and explored ways to make those recommendations more precise. I compared how guidelines for cholesterol, blood pressure, and cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome health have changed over time. I also analyzed data from a major blood pressure study (SPRINT trial), using two blood biomarkers to better identify CKM patients at risk and determine who may benefit most from intensive treatment. Together, this work aims to strengthen the evidence-based data behind medical guidelines and move care toward more personalized treatment.
