Texas A&M student Rebecca Taylor honored with the Robin Bush Award

You don’t want to miss this article about Rebecca Taylor, a first-year engineering student at Texas A&M University.

She and her mother, Christyn Taylor (Class of ’98,) were honored Thursday with the Robin Bush Award, which is given annually to those who make a major contribution to improving the lives of children. It’s named for the daughter of the late President and First Lady, George and Barbara Bush, who lost a young child to leukemia in 1953.

Rebecca Taylor is one of Texas A&M’s top scholars. But that is just the start of it. Her story of toughness and selflessness is unlike any I can remember, especially involving someone so young and so challenged.

On the other hand, maybe it is what we ought to expect from a ninth-generation Texan and a third-generation Aggie.
